Pride Admit Weekend invites all newly admitted freshman undergraduate students who may identify as LGBTQ+ and allies to participate in PAW 2018! PAW gives new admits the opportunity to explore and experience Bruin life on campus and in the dorms, connect to on-campus resources available to you as a new admit and as a queer or allied student, and to learn more about the academic, professional, and social opportunities UCLA offers. We pair each admit with a volunteer student host who will act as a mentor and guide their admit through PAW and Bruin life! PAW allows new students to build a community here at UCLA before starting classes in the Fall!
PAW is also scheduled the weekend of Bruin Day, so students attending PAW will spend the last day, Saturday, April 14, 2018 participating in Bruin Day!
Our 2014 Pride Admit Weekend has earned exceptional reviews from participants, with a 70% Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) rate. In addition, PAW 2014 has also received critical acclaim from student affairs professionals for its innovation and inclusion; recently nominated for a national award from NASPA | Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.
