LGBT Student Organizations
UCLA is home to over 19 LGBTQ student organizations! All of the student organizations are student directed and supported. For more information on how to participate in a student organization check out their websites below.
Some of the student organizations meet weekly or biweekly - others host special events, educational events, LGBT awareness programs and social hours.

Project 1
Project 1's purpose is to help the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and ally youth through tutoring and peer mentorship. Beyond academics and cultural awareness, the group hopes to foster leadership skills that will encourage students' holistic development and organization around relevant queer issues.

Student Alliance for Marriage Equality (SAME)
Started in January 2005 as a group advocating for the civil rights of LGBT peoples. The goal is simple, but the task is large. Voter identification, education/awareness about candidates' stances on LGBT issues (specifically same-sex marriage), statewide event with other campuses in Winter quarter, same-sex wedding ceremony in the spring.

The Social Welfare Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer & Ally Caucus is a support network for LGBTQ community members and their straight allies within the MSW program at UCLA.
